Ensemble 132 Quartet

Award-winning chamber music collective ensemble132 will perform a thrilling program of danceful works by Igor Stravinsky and Antonin Dvorak. They will also perform the Maryland premiere of a new virtuoso piano quartet transcription of Robert Schumann’s masked-ball suite Carnaval.
A visionary collaboration between exceptionally distinguished chamber musicians, ensemble132 creates programs of novel re-imaginings of classic repertoire from symphonies to sonatas. Violinist Stephanie Zyzak is replaced by Kate Arndt for this concert. Violinist Kate Arndt, from Boston, Massachusetts is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree under Ani Kavafian. Kate holds Masters degrees from Yale in both Music and Musical Arts and completed her undergraduate studies at New England Conservatory of Music under Miriam Fried. A passionate chamber musician, Kate has performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall, New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, as well as the Curtis Institute of Music and the University of New Orleans with her current group, the Vera Quartet. |
